Indonesia, with the largest Muslim majority population in the world, is accompanied by the growth and development of Islamic schools. The character of Indonesian Muslims who are predominantly Shafites madhab, respects their shafites scholars. This study explained how Imam Nawawi's who one of scholar in shafites madhab views on Islamic education, especially method and ethic for students and teachers of the Islamic Quran schools in Indonesia. The data’s and information’s were taken from Imam Nawawi's book entitled At Tibyan Fii Adab Hamalatil Quran. As result of the study was shown how important should be be known both students and teachers of the Quran towards ethics and manners when reciting, teaching, memorizing and interacting with the Quran as explained by Imam Nawawi. The Quran is kalamullah the word of Allah so when someone reads it, learns it, and teaches it must have the right ethics as a Muslim so that become worship. The study advised that ethics and manners for the Quran should be applied in Islamic schools in order to achieve the objectives of learning and teaching the Quran as has been done by the scholars in accordance to shariah or Islamic law.Thesis
