dc.description.abstractStruggle between Islamist and non Islamist in Indonesia had been on for hundred years ago. When Islam came, some Muslims still cannot leave their previous tradition. Muslim scholars have faced non Muslim as well as syncretized Muslim to make Islamic laws obeyed. After colonialism had gone, Dutch had left Indonesia with some of the students been westernized and have not made Islam as the only views. Indonesia independence with potential ideological conflict between Islamist and secularist that agree to make Piagam Jakarta with Pancasila in it as the compromised way. Islamist had been upset since the nationalist has removed the seventh words that was placed by Islamist to ensure if Muslim will obey Islamic rules. This thesis investigated if Islamic organization is still committed to fighting for Islam as a State ideology and to find out their acceptance and/or their disagreement with any efforts to formulize Islam through Islamic based on local regulation (perda syariah). Survey was conducted to 4 of 6 cities that have been planned and got about 396 respondents from Jakarta, Tangerang, Surabaya and Makassar. This survey intended to map several organizations in Indonesia and their position to Pancasila as well as perda syariah. Those organizations are Nahdatul Ulama, Muhamadiyah, PERSIS/Hidayatullah, FPI and Tarbiyah. Each organization represents unique characteristic: moderate traditionalist, moderate modernist, traditionalist, hardliner Islamist and political Islamist. As the conclusion, all organizations most likely have the same point as perda syariah but there is a significant difference in making Islam as the state foundation of Indonesia
