An Appraisal on The Marriage Failure in Kaduna State: Causes and Solutions from Islamic Perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the root course of frequent marriage failure among the Muslim residents of Kaduna and propose solutions to them from an Islamic perspective. The study examines the raised issues from the survey questionnaires given and proffers workable solutions to the increased cases of failed marriages. The research adopted a structured questionnaire and qualitative doctrinal research approach. The doctrinal research involved the study of the Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, and related case studies. The findings revealed that a significant proportion of the Muslim ummah in Kaduna were not well versed in Islamic teachings due to inadequate exposure to learning and influence of western values, leading to lapses in adherence to marital rights and obligations.
