Islamophobia: Its History, Reasons, And Suggested Solutions

Abstract

Last century brought about many new challenges for the Muslims around the world. Anti-Muslim propaganda has has taken the shape of Islamophobia. By means of the increased role of electronic media and especially the social media, Islamophobia has multiplied to a greater extent. In this paper, I have studied and researched the historical back ground and various form of islamophobia. This study is significantly important because it answers the questions which are being asked about Islam. The study clarifies misconceptions of non-Muslims about Islam. My paper has focused on the manifestations and responses of the Muslims to Islamophobia. I have studied the role of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the Muslim faith. The goal and objective of this study is to demonstrate the significance of development of a counter narrative against Islamophobia. I have used some unorthodox means for this study, I have listened to modern scholars lectures who have greatly contributed in the development of a counter narrative against Islamophobia. Only a counter narrative and intellectually thoughtout response can defeat Islamophobia.
