Abstract
Corruption plays a major part in dismantling the Arabic education system in The Gambia. It all starts with the deduction of teacher’s salaries as the root cause and tampering with evidence. These involve denying teachers monthly payment slips, no agreement sign or contract at the beginning of their appointment. Social security has never been paid by Amanah, schools principals are mainly the accountant, registrar, and master in a small school, embezzlement of private funds, bribes, and forgery are main done by principals of the schools. The research, therefore, examined corruption in Arabic schools in The Gambia and its consequences. Data were collected in three forms; online which consist of 20% of the participant, 20% were collected physically in Saudi Arabia, the final 60% of the data were collected through a third part (the researchers’ representative in the Gambia) was and this was later through online software called WhatsApp. The study discovered that there is a strong relationship between corruption and teachers’ salaries deduction which, if not solved, will have a colossal effect on the Arabic system. Therefore, in conclusion, solutions and recommendations such as making sure that every workers’ salary is deposited in his or her personal account and not through a principal to distribute, asking teachers to sign a contract, and making sure every school has its own account are among the ways to end or at least minimize corruption and its problems. Bringing a crystal poster about rules on corruption in each school office may also help. The government should bring a supervisor to monitor the school and Amanah direct without leaving the Arabic school program in the hands of Amanah itself.
