Crisis Management Strategy in Islam: A Case Study of Prophet (PBUH) Muhammad's Approaches in the Hudaibiyya

Abstract

This research analyse s the crisis management strategy in Islam taking Hudaibiyya as a case study. The Islam is one of the most misunderstood religions on earth even by its own devoted followers. The guidance which helps and guides the prophet Muhammed (PBUH) to establish a civilisation within twenty three years becomes a just religion of rituals. This research reveals one of the guidance Islam gives to tackle the crisis situations. Crisis is an inevitable part of human life; Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) faced many crises in his life. Though many crises he faced in his life, including slander about his own wife but here the Hudaibiyya incident has taken to account for the research. The selection of Hudaibiyya is dues to many reasons in which the impact of this event had affected not only the people those who accept the prophet but the people those who opposed him as well. The researcher has reviewed the historic details of Hudaibiyya , an incident whichtook place628AD, 6 th year of the Hijra, by critically reviewing the details the historic incident. The researcher selected the authentic historic records Holy Quran, Hadiths of prophet and the available literatures about the subject of historical event. The latest crisis management theories and methods also discussed by reviewing various available sources of the subject matter . The research has taken the event of Hudaibiyya in the life of prophet as a case to find the strategies of crisis management in Islam, t he answer for actual incident of Hudaibiyya was discussed extensively and it’s found it was a real social crisis by all the definitions and prophet Muhammed (PBUH) managed the crisis successfully. The Islamic crisis management system composed of some additional successful elements of management compared to the latest available conventional crisis management models and systems. The significant of this research is unveiling one the precious pearl of Islamic management system, the elements of crisis management. This research helps for students those who keen on studying the historic events in managerial view real time managers , community leaders and even for Islamic preachers also can get benefit from this research
