Manifestasi Kasih Sayang Allah Kepada Nabi Yusuf (Studi Tematik Surat Yusuf dalam Tafsir As-Sa’Di)

Abstract

This study is motivated by the prevalence of research on the story of Prophet Yusuf that focuses on character education and human responses to trials, while the dimension of the divine relationship represented by raḥmah, luṭf, and tarbiyah ilāhiyyah has not been systematically examined. This study aims to analyze the manifestations of Allah’s love toward Prophet Yusuf, the relational pattern among these three concepts, and the contribution of the thematic tafsir approach based on Taysīr al-Karīm al-Raḥmān fī Tafsīr Kalām al-Mannān by ‘Abd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir As-Sa’di. This study employs library research with a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach and the thematic tafsir method (al-tafsīr al-mawḍū’ī). The findings show that the manifestation of Allah’s love occurs in three phases: before the trial, through the strengthening of faith; during the trial, through protection and guidance manifested through luṭf; and after the trial, through tamkīn, honor, and the completion of blessings. The study also finds that luṭf is the most dominant concept in As-Sa’di’s interpretation, functioning as the subtle mechanism of divine arrangement within the process of tarbiyah ilāhiyyah. Raḥmah serves as the foundation and orientation of Allah’s love, luṭf as the mechanism of His divine arrangement, and tarbiyah ilāhiyyah as the process of nurturing that leads to maturity in faith, character, and piety. The thematic tafsir approach contributes to revealing the interconnectedness of these three concepts as an integrated whole. Future research may develop similar studies on the stories of other prophets while taking into account the context of each event.
